MEMORIAL GARDEN –Victim Healing Place

MADD was chartered in Lane County on
March 3, 1983. Since then we have:
promoted public awareness campaigns,
funded bill boards and bus boards, red ribbon and
designated driver campaigns, and
medi campaigns (to name a few.)
become a community resource for the schools in the
county, educating young students about the risks of drunk driving by speaking, holding contests or
sponsoring school assemblies.
Our objective is to stop drunk
driving, support victims of this violent crime, and
prevent underage drinking.
We have worked hard on public
awareness and student education. We need to do more for
victims.
WHY A MADD
MEMORIAL GARDEN?
IT IS TIME!
For the past 23 years,
our volunteers have listened to the outpouring of grief
from families and friends of innocent victims of drunk
driving.
Many have expressed a
desire to have a peaceful spot set aside to honor those
who have died – a garden in which to seek solace. We
agree.
